Richard and Sharon Green are Pastors at RCC who provide Marriage and Family counseling to our membership.
After living in Arizona for 40 years, Sharon moved with her husband, Richard and their youngest children to Utah in 1989 where they began to attend Rock Canyon Church. She has worked full time for Novell since 1991. In 2000 Sharon and her husband became the directors for The National Association of Marriage Enhancement for Provo, Utah. Understanding the struggles of marriage and blended families they wanted to be able to share what they had learned from their own experience, and therefore have provided other couples with marriage counseling, although that is not their main focus now. Sharon and her husband are now working with a mentor program in which they provide assistance and help to former inmates, and people who suffer from addiction.
In addition to their training, Richard and Sharon both understand the struggles of being a single parent, and the joys of being in a loving happy relationship, and are able to share God's wisdom and plan for marriage, family, and life with couples in and out of the church. Together, they have seven children and 12 grandchildren, and enjoy cruising, and traveling.
Richard grew up in Arizona. He is the chaplain for the Utah County Jail. Richard is Certified as a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and serves on many boards. He is also a member of Rotary International. Richard is a member of Rock Canyon Board of Directors where he serves as treasurer.
Sharon grew up in Arizona and has known Jesus as her Lord and Savior since she was 5 years old.
In 1973 she was attending Bible College and met and fell in love with Richard Green. She was a single mother of two growing boys, Scott and Darren. They married on August 30, 1974 and began their journey as a blended family, continuing to further their educations by attending Bible College and then graduating the same year together, 1981. In 1982 they adopted Sharons three nieces, Della 4, Dodie 2, and Jennifer 1. They were now the proud parents of 7 children.
