Real People Real Love
"We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first. If anyone boasts, "I love God," and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won't love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can't see? The command we have from Christ is blunt: Loving God includes loving people. You've got to love both."

~ 1 John 4:19-22

Core Values

We believe that relevant, accurate and responsive congregations draw people to God.

Relevant:  What we are doing is relevant for our time, our culture, and our position in the community. We want to reach people on an individual level, providing the word of God in a practical and livable way.

At RCC we strive to make God relevant to those who are interested in following Jesus by making sure that the biblical principals and stories we teach are shared in a way that understandable, current and accurate. Biblical truth reveals that God is not just the creator of the universe and relevant in the beginning, but also relevant now and will be relevant through out eternity. If Gods historical, current and future relevance is lost or not communicated, then part of the story and relationship is lost.

Accurate:  We do not apologize for our beliefs, nor will we dilute or manipulate those beliefs to suit the needs of others. The Word of God is our source of knowledge, our passion, and our theology. We will study and follow it accurately, presenting it to our members and the community in the same way.

Responsive:  It is our desire to meet the needs of our members and their families, as well as the community in which we have chosen our home. We want to respond to those needs spiritually, emotionally, and physically, using wisely what God has given us in finances, time, and resources.

Practically Speaking...

How do we translate the core values of our fellowship into a real-life practical application for ourselves and our community?

RCC believes that followers of Jesus should be relevant to the community at large. The role of the local congregation is to be positive asset and voice to the greater community not a thorn in their flesh. The true test of relevance in a community would be the reaction of the community to word that the church was closing. If they rejoiced and offered to help us move out of town then we have failed the test and we are not relevant.

Accuracy means not only biblical accuracy, but also cultural accuracy. We live in a world that loves to label individuals and then classify them accordingly. We believe in the Godly potential of individuals no matter what their background or history. As a result we choose to join them on their journey no matter where they are, where they have been, or where they are going.

We do not believe that there is a minimum required amount of accurate theology for us to have a relationship with God. We believe that if we seek God with all our heart we will find him. As a result RCC does not a hold to Theological Legalism.

At RCC being responsive means that we are striving to be flexible to the leading of Gods Spirit, both in respect to Gods desire for our individual journeys as well as the needs of others, where we have the capacity to meet those needs.
