Another layoff day but different...

Well, this year's layoffs at Novell are different for me. While I am seeing my friends affected by this and moving positions and looking for work, I am not personally in a position to be laid off. Since ACS purchased some of us from Novell we are no longer subject to the seemingly randomness of layoffs. I'm still unsure what ACS does for layoffs and if it is something we are subject to but at least for now I can have compassion for my co-workers without having that nagging worry in the back of my head that I may be laid off as well.
