Gettin' the Work Done!
Because we get up so early on Sunday to get our work done, I usually like to allow my children time to just hang out and watch cartoons on Saturdays. Today was a bit different though. The weather forecast called for afternoon thundershowers and we really needed to get out and get moving before 1030, the time I normally let them all lay around until. Today, the eldest boy got up around 0700 so I told him to eat his breakfast and get ready because we're out working at 0800! That worked and he was ready but we were fighting the clock. Trying to outrun the rain and get our work finished in the morning was difficult. We had to finish a fence around the beehives so the critters stop rubbing up against the boxes and ruining our very expensive hives. To get the fence up, we had to remove some trees and without a chainsw a sawzall does well on the small stuff! We finally were able to finish that to get moving to the next item. We needed to seed part of the lawn that died off with us. We also need to finish leveling the back so we can put in the sprinklers and then, more importantly, the lawn itself. But, in order to get the back leveled off, we need the tractor working. So, after we were done with all of that (we'll be burning the trees shortly..I'll take a photo, it should be huge!) it was off to the tractor, tighten up a couple of bolt, put in the go juice and turn it over..........to nothing. I'm just hoping this will be very small and minor to fix so I can get it up and running, hook up the box scraper and get to working in the back!
We made it as far as working on the tractor before the rain began. We promptly went inside, cleaned up and decided we were too busy to continue with outside work. Maybe tomorrow!
