Continuing to play mechanic

I think the hardest part for me in not having wheels is having to put other people out. I hate that my wife has to plan her day around getting me to work and home. Or I need to ask one of my work buddies to stop by and grab me in the morning or at night. I really feel bad having to put people out like that. The tough part for me is that people generally really want to help out. They are willing, at least for a time, to go a bit out of their way to help me and that makes it harder. I need help, but I don't want to end up taking advantage.

Well, with that said, I have finally heard back from the parts place about the Jeep. I have to purchase the rings in a kit of all six (there are six cylinders in the Jeep) and the pistons are relatively inexpensive enough that we have decided to go ahead and replace all six holes. That will increase the amount of work involved minimally but will ensure that everything is in the best possible condition. I need to do some measuring tonight to find out which ones to purchase and we should have some new pistons ready for the Jeep very soon...maybe even this week! Then it is wrenching, grunting, bleeding from the skinned knuckles and praying the thing will start up again after the work is done!
