The morning ride

When I'm riding my motorcycle, I always wear my leathers. I also made certain I purchased good leathers. Some are just for show and are patched together from various pieces of animal. They may look good but certainly will not do their job. The job of leathers is to mitigate the damage from unwanted impact with the ground. Well, that's not completely true. It's not the with the ground they will do much about...it's the subsequent skidding along the ground the leathers will help with. They should abrade and be torn up nicely while my delicate skin remains happily skid-mark free! So I have nice leathers made from naked cow hide which is just the cow and very thick. One unfortunate opportunity this creates is when it's 90 degrees outside, it is warmer than that on the pavement and black leather tends to hold that heat rather well. Thankfully, this morning was a much nicer morning. 68 degrees in Benjamin made for a very comfortable ride. I zipped up, didn't open the vents and had a very comfortable ride all the way to work!
