Fun week!

Fun for me at work involves bugs. Not the multi-legged things, but rather problem written into software. This past week I have had a really fun bug to work on. What made it fun? The involvement. There were many different layers of problems and I had to involve experts in many different things in order to find the underlying problem. A lot of what I work on is communication. So if you think of the drive through at your bank. They have those vacuum tubes that suck the little cylinder along, right? Well, inside that cylinder you put an envelope with information on how to handle what you put in the envelope. Well, that's a lot of what I do. Get the envelope filled out correct, put the correct information in the envelope, place the entire package in a cylinder, then put it into the tube to be whooshed off to the bank. I was able to work with the bank this week, an expert in the envelopes and an expert in the whoosh tube. Found the problem. I just didn't take all the stuff out of the cylinder when they sent it back to me. Changed my code to take the stuff out and everything is good...but what a fun bug!
