Black Flagged

There was an opportunity at my home. Somebody accidentally ran into my motorcycle and broke the taillight. Had that been the end of it, I could have glued it or bodged it in some manner to keep it running until a better taillight could be found. But that was not the end of it. It appears somebody decided to hide the evidence. So I went out to fire up the bike and head into work the other day and...whoops! There is a bare bulb out the back! Of course, nobody did it, but we got to the bottom of that mystery, but I am stuck with no taillight! Now, that is not as tough as it seems. I already preferred this one

and won it on eBay, so it is on the way. But the person I won it from took their time sending it out and it may not arrive by Sunday...when we have a ride scheduled up to the baptism!
So, here is where having a strangish bike becomes a problem. No dealers. There is one up in Salt Lake, though, and my wife is headed up there today. So I call them...nope, no taillight in stock, but after my sob story they are willing to remove one from a bike on the floor and sell it to me. Great, I think, call my wife and ask her to stop by. No problem, I'll be back on the road.

NOT!

Of course, the dealer doesn't get it. After my wife goes out of the way to head to the dealership, they look into the parts catalog and can't seem to find just the lens. Yes, the item I see right here for only $9.18 they have decided doesn't exist and want to charge me $50 for the whole assembly! So I'm stuck. Just hoping my eBay seller who "thinks they shipped it Monday or Tuesday" actually gets it to me from North Carolina fast fast fast!
